Sled Width, Runner Center to Center, all models: 20''
Load Range, as listed, is cargo weight only, not including the driver, for optimum handling. More or, in some cases, less weight than listed can be carried, of course, but optimum handling will be within the listed range.
An outstanding general purpose sled. The raised bed is a compromise between the convenience and tight handling of a basket sled and the low center of gravity and increased cargo volume of a toboggan sled. It is intended for on-trail use, but it won't get completely mired in deep snow. If you can only have one sled, this is a good choice, and it can be tailored to meet specific requirements.

This is our best passenger hauler. The raised bed keeps passenger posterior/obstacle impacts to a minimum, but it is low enough to have good stability with heavy loads. Since it is designed for weight, it handles better with a load than it does empty. It is almost identical to the 8RT, with the handlebar/rear stanchion assembly moved 12'' further back, and a heavy duty bed is standard.

The sports car of the CB Sled line, the 66RT was developed through testing by, and input from, 30-mile 6-dog class and unlimited sprint class racers. The prototype, pictured above, was driven to a 3rd place finish in the Sandwich Notch 30 on its maiden voyage, and has also been driven to two wins behind an unlimited class sprint team. It is built for speed and drivability, and expects an experienced hand at the controls. The perforated bed is optional.

This is a classic utility sled, suitable for many uses. Using the vehicle analogy again, the 8T is a pickup truck, and like a pickup truck, it handles better when loaded. The toboggan bed allows off-trail operation. Even when heavily loaded this sled will float on untracked snow. The very low center of gravity makes it virtually untippable, and if it goes into deep snow on the side of the trail, the deep shovel front end rides up and puts itself back on the trail. The sled pictured above is equipped with the optional stainless steel snowhook and fitted snowhook holder.

Like the 8XRT compared to the 8RT, the 8XT is a stretched, heavy duty version of the 8T. Also like the 8XRT, it handes best with a substantial load. It is suitable for trekking, passenger hauling, and long-distance racing. As its name suggests, it was first built for a musher running the Labrador 400. It has sufficient weight capacity, cargo volume, rough terrain handling ability, and durability for use in the Yukon Quest or the Iditarod.

This sled is the best all-around choice for those who prefer the more traditional look and feel of a basket sled, and who don't plan on breaking trail. This is a sweet handling ride. It is lively and responsive, but also comfortable and stable enough for mid-distance racing. The basket height allows the driver to reach to the bottom of the sled bag while standing on the runners.

The Stage Stop Special was built specifically to meet the 60'' minimum bed length requirement for the race of the same name. A toboggan sled has little advantage in that race, because the trail is groomed just before each stage, so there is little risk of soft trail conditions. Because the bed length makes the trailing runner length relatively short, it handles best loaded.

Since CB Sleds are built to order, custom requirements can often be met with little or no extra expense. Several models in the line started with custom orders. We are always interested in meeting our customers' special needs, so don't hesitate to ask.
